HENRY O. PEABODY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM OFFERS WOMEN UP TO $5,000 ANNUALLY IN FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. The Henry O. Peabody Scholarship Program will award renewable scholarships of $1,000 to $5,000 to women of Norfolk County, Massachusetts. Recipients will be chosen on the basis of merit and financial need. Applications must be submitted by April 15 for scholarships for the next academic year. Information and application forms are available for downloading by clicking on www.sms.scholarshipamerica.org/peabody . To be eligible for the Henry O. Peabody scholarship, women may be graduating high school seniors, currently enrolled undergraduates or those seeking return to school. Scholarships may be used for full or part-time study at any accredited two or four-year college or university as well as vocational-technical schools. Applications are also encouraged from women who are displaced homemakers or now receiving Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC). |

Adult students may negotiate to use their awards for child care or other education related expenses. Awards are renewable up to three years on the basis of satisfactory academic performance and maintaining full or part-time enrollment. In selecting recipients, first preference will be given to residents of the town of Norwood. Second preference will be given to applicants from Bellingham, Brockton, Canton, Dedham, Mansfield, Sharon, Walpole, Westwood, Weymouth and Wrentham. Third preference will be given to residents of other towns in Norfolk County.
Established by the Henry O. Peabody School for Girls, the program operates under the will of Henry O. Peabody. Since the program's inception in 1991, nearly three million dollars in scholarships have been awarded. It is independently managed by Scholarship Management Services®, a division of Scholarship America®. Scholarship Management Services is the nation's largest designer and manager of scholarship and tuition reimbursement programs for corporations, foundations association and individuals.
